Flash Village - Spring Head - Dane Valley Way - Three Shires Head - Danebower Quarry - Reeve Edge Quarry - Orchard Farm - Dane Head - Axe Edge (North - Trig Point) - Axe Edge (South) - Axe Edge End - Hilltop - Oxenstitch - Flash Village

A sunday morning walk starting in the village of Flash near Buxton. Flash states it is the highest village in Britain at 1,518 feet above sea level. Flash is also famed for "Flash Money" as depicted on the sign above the New Inn. Fugitives took refuge on the moors in the area and illegal prize fights took place at Three Shires Head. It was a centre for the forger's trade and was known as bandit country. Today started quite overcast and dark although it was bright and sunny when I left home. The route included a "there and back" climb to Axe Edge Moor Trig Point. On arrival the sun came out and the views to Buxton, Parkhouse Hill, Chrome Hill, and the Cat and Fiddle Inn were fantastic. The walk across Axe Edge Moor was quite bleak with not much life and colour. I think the best time to come would be when the heather is out.
