Railway Station
On
a cold and overcast day 16 walkers started from
Edale Railway Station in aid of raising much needed
funds for the Kinder Mountain Rescue Team. Although
it was very cold the conditions remained dry but
misty on the tops. The route taken was via Grindsbrook
Clough to the Kinder Edges. This added a little
adventurous walking and easy scrambling over the
rocky (and in places icy) terrain. Refreshments
were taken at the top of Grindsbrook
Clough. The walk continued along
the Kinder Edge to Crowden Tower
and The
Woolpacks (where some time was spent exploring).
We descended back to Edale via Swines Back, Jacobs
Ladder and the Pennine Way. The walk was just over
8 miles and we arrived back in Edale at the light
was beginning to fade. This was a walk that was
enjoyed by all. Well done to Ranger Bob from Gruff-Stuff
Walks for organising a great day out on the moors.
