Longlands
Bridge - Longlands Beck - Trusmadoor - Great Cockup
- Meal Fell - Great Sca Fell - Little Sca Fell -
Brae Fell - Charleton Gill - Longlands Fell - Longlands
Bridge
I drove
from Binsey (my first walk of the day) to Longlands
Bridge to walk the fells at the "Back
'o' Skidda". I followed the valley from Longlands
Bridge to Trusmadoor and then up to the summit of Great
Cockup. The scenery around here was lovely - and was
an area I had not visited before. The clouds were very
slowly clearing from the tops. From Great Cockup I
returned to Trusmadoor and then climbed to Meal Fell
(at 550 metres). Next I climbed once more up grassy
slopes to the highest point of my walk - Great Sca
Fell (651 metres). The sun was now properly out giving
good views across the area. I continued to Little Sca
Fell and Brae Fell before descending steeply to Charleton
Gill. I then climbed again to Longlands Fell. From
here it was a short downhill walk back to Longlands
Bridge. |
