NOTES
|
Grasmere
- Easedale - Sourmilk Gill - Easedale Tarn - Blea
Rigg - Codale Tarn - Tarn Crag - Sourmilk Gill -
Easedale - Grasmere
Starting
from Grasmere on a cloudy morning I set off for Easedale.
There were not many
walkers around today as the forecast was for rain
later during the day. After walking through Easedale
I arrived at Sourmilk Gill Waterfall. There was
plenty of water cascading down the waterfall today.
I carried
on to Easedale Tarn and then to Blea Crag and Blea
Rigg. The cloud had cleared most of the lower tops
by now giving good views in most directions. My
route then took me down the slopes near Belles Knott,
across
to Codale Tarn and then up to Tarn Crag with its
true top and viewpoint cairn. It had now started
to rain and in fact it rained all the way back
to Grasmere. My return was down the ridge (through
tall
and wet bracken) across Greathead Crag to near
Sourmilk Gill Waterfall where I had to ford the Gill.
I then
retraced my steps through Easedale and back to
Grasmere. |
