Hopton
Hall
On
a sunny Saturday morning Gill and Nicola joined me
to visit the Snowdrops at Hopton Hall. The Hall is
situated in the lovely hamlet of Hopton which is
a few miles north of Ashbourne near Carsington Reservoir.
There is a woodland walk around the grounds of Hopton
Hall which includes visits to the various gardens
and lake. As well as Snowdrops there were also lots
of Aconites to view too. Refreshments were served
in the Hall and plants were sold in the entrance
to the Hall. Hopton Hall can trace its roots back
to being a 12th century manor House when it boasted
an estate of 3,700 acres some of which now stands
under the Carsington Reservoir. |
