Wasdale Head - Brown Tongue - Scafell Pike - Lingmell - Wasdale Head

It was a lovely sunny day. I walked from Wasdale Head across Lingmell Beck and up Brown Tongue following Lingmell Gill. I have walked down Brown Tongue before but never up it. A quite steep ascent. I took the longer route to the top of Scafell Pike instead of via Mickledore. Great views from the top. I walked up Scafell Pike with a man I met on the way up Brown Tongue. He was from Lancashire. Although he had climbed Scafell Pike before he had not climbed the three peaks in Yorkshire. After leaving the highest point in England I continued to Lingmell. This time I walked to both the cairns. It is a wonder that the tall narrow cairn does not collapse in high winds. Returned to Wasdale Head via Goat Crags. A really enjoyable day.
