WALK NOTES
This was my second attempt at the annual 26 mile White Peak Walk. It was much cooler this year at just over the 20 degrees mark compared to over 30 degrees last year. The number of walkers were slightly down on last year at 280. The overall time to complete the walk this year was 8 hours 35 minutes which in fact was 50 minutes quicker than last year. It was a mainly sunny and dry day with a slight breeze - just right for walking. When I had finished I noticed that I had come in almost at the same time as another walker who I came in with at the same time last year. This must suggest that our fitness must be very similar no matter what the weather. Mark still had blisters this year but did not suffer as much as last year and in fact finished just a few moments behind me. There were plenty of refreshments en route including hot and cold drinks as well as biscuits and sweets. After the walk there was pie and peas and drinks too. Then it was to the Bulls Head for a quick pint. As we were about to set off for home the rain started. I have split the walking maps below in to sections so that it is easier to follow the overall route taken.
