On
a wet a cold day I started from Grasmere village
car park and headed for Allan Bank. There was quite
a bit of snow on the ground and it was quite slippy.
There were also few people around today due to
the weather conditions. The views from Allan Bank
were good towards Helm Crag and across to Stone
Arthur.
This
was a walk which took only two and three quarter
hours and was three and a half miles in length.
On reaching the summit cairn of Silver How there
were good views to Grasmere. On a good day I am
sure the views would have been great.
When
I arrived back in Grasmere village the rain came
down. It was not the best day for walking but at
least it was another Wainwright off my list to
complete.
