Although there was a little rain during the day it was mainly dry and occassionally sunny. The Three Rings of Shap as you can imagine is split into three sections. These are Ring 1 Mosedale (18 miles) which heads towards the Lake District and takes in the two Wainwrights of Branstree and Selside Pike - Ring 2 Lyvennet, Leith & Lowther (24 miles) which crosses farm and parkland and visits many Westmoreland villages - Ring 3 Great Asby (20 miles) which follows Wainwrights Coast to Coast route out of Shap and then explores the National Nature Reserve of Great Asby Scar in classic limestone country.

I walked Ring 1 - The Mosedale Ring - which included some lovely and dramatic scenery. Not only did I add two more Wainwright Fells to my completed list but I also visited the dramatic waterfalls of Mosedale Beck at Forces Falls. It was a great walk and one that I will certainly do again one day.
