An OFC outing in the Peak District. Thirteen walkers
started from Derbyshire Bridge car park above the Goyt
Valley and headed for Burbage Edge. Then it was a descent
down Wildmoorstone to Errwood Reservoir and the Goyt
Valley. Lunchtime refreshments were had at Errwood
Hall before continuing to the Spanish Shrine. Then
it was Pym Chair, Cats Tor and Shining Tor before descending
down Stake Clough to Goyts Clough and the road back
to the car park at Derbyshire Bridge.
It
was a great day full of laughter and enjoyment. The
weather started
with low cloud and mist but this soon cleared to
give some great views. With only one shower of rain
(waterproofs
on for a very short time) and rest of the day was
dry. We all had refreshments at the Cat and Fiddle
Inn after
the walk.
The
walk was 11.90 miles with 660 metres of ascent and
took 6 hours 45 minutes. A great and
fun day was had by all.
