Lyzzick Wood - Millbeck
Believe it or not this was my third walk of the day.
I wanted to tick off this Wainwright fell as it would
have meant a really long walk when I was trying to
complete the rest of the Skiddaw Fells from Keswick.
The sun was out for nearly all the walk and there were
great views from the summit. It is much better now
since the trees from the summit have been cut down.
Dodd (or Skiddaw Dodd) stands at 502 metres. The ascent
through the forest was steep and very slipery. The
main paths were closed due to the nesting Ospreys nearby.
The walk started and finished in the village of Millbeck.
The path is one that is used very little. |
